Year 2 Week 9

The competitions are over and like always there's a winner and a loser. Out of the 9 teams there had to be one left. Our robot made it all the ways to the finals going through any robot it faced. The final competition on the other hand wasn't easy we faced Jareds and Wills robot who had fought to the finals after losing their first match. The end result of the final match was our Robot coming second and theirs first. Congrats to Jareds and Wills team for the win!

Here is the bracket from the competition, we are Team 7

Year 2 Week 8

The robot has been completed in Solidworks. Since then we have taken on several other teams, and for the most part, have come out on top. We can't seem to beat a certain robot consistently, but wheelies do help with pulling a brick on wheels.

Year 2 Week 5

We are currently working on weight platforms for the robot, and the gearing in solid-works. We plan to have the compound gearing for torque finished by Wednesday. By getting the compound gearing centered we can transfer equal torque to each wheel. Applying that we have four wheel it gives us a major advantage against team with 2 wheel drive since we have 4 wheels under power while they have 2.

Tuesday, September 29, 2015

Year 2 Week 4

Today we worked on putting the bot together in Solidworks, and coding the robot. he main chassis of the robot is complete in Solidworks and we will be putting in the ear assembly and motors tomorrow.

Friday, September 25, 2015

year 2 week3

this week we almost finished the whole assembly. we did on the other hand finish the winch.

Monday Week 20

While building our arm we come across a problem with attaching the gears. The solution to the problem is to use compound gears. Now the goal for the week is to make a new design that meets the needs for placing the gears.

Friday, May 15, 2015

Friday week 19

This week my team were able to finish the arm to the robot, and we completed our goal for the week by attaching the arm to the robot. Unfortunately we were unable to test the arm to see if it works but we are trying to do that by toady.

Monday, May 11, 2015

Monday Week 19

This week is yet again another short week due to testing. Since we finished are arm, the goal for this week is to attach the arm to the robot test it to see if it works and try to complete the challenge, but first we need to charge our battery and brain.

Friday, May 8, 2015

Friday week 18

Even though it was a short week again we were able to complete our goal for this week. We were finally able to finish the design for our new robot arm and hopefully this arm works. We plan on testing it next week.

Monday, May 4, 2015

Monday Week 18

This Monday anybody is here due to testing again. We only have three days of school due to testing again. Well are goal for the week is to build a new arm because are current design doesn't work properly.

Friday, May 1, 2015

Friday week 17

This Friday was a very short day since due to testing the engineering building has being used so for Thursday and Friday  we were in the portables. Friday Mr. Martin took the day off which is something I would do so the sub made us do a current event on technology.

Monday, April 27, 2015

Monday Week 17

This week there is not much to do due to testing so this post is going to be nice and short. This week since we only have two days of engineering we plan on putting our arm on the robot and maybe if we have time begin testing the robot.

Friday, April 24, 2015

Friday week 16

Out of our two goals for this week we were able to complete one of them. We finally after all this time finished the autonomous challenge with a B. Now its time to put are full focus on the robot arm so we can finish that.

Monday, April 20, 2015

Monday week 16

We are back and forth with the same two challenges. Our goal for this week is to finish the autonomous build and attach the arm to our robot.

Friday, April 17, 2015

Friday week 15

Our group is back on the autonomous build again. We are getting closer and closer with this code and hopefully we can finish it by next week so we can continue working on the tetra challenge.

Monday, April 13, 2015

Monday Week 15

This week we fixed our bluetooth problem and now we are up and ready with autonomous. Our goal of the week is to come up with the right code to finish the autonomous challenge so that we can continue working on the robotic arm challenge.

Friday, April 10, 2015

Friday week 14

On this Friday our group decided that arm arm is to short for the challenge so we managed to find a rail that is tall enough for the challenge. We installed the rail and we are almost done with the lift. Now with the autonomous challenge we are having a few Bluetooth issues so we still haven't
completed that but we have are code ready for it.

Monday, April 6, 2015

Monday week 14

Well we managed to build half of our robot arm for the challenge. So now our goal for this week is to build the other half of the arm that consist of the gears and the motor that shifts the lift part up and down. We also want to attach the two parts together and attach are finished arm to the robot.

Friday, April 3, 2015

Thursday week 13

For the end of the week recap we made a design for the arm and we began building. The design for are arm is based off of a system of gears and a motor that moves a metal bar up and down. By next week we should be finished with arm.

Monday, March 30, 2015

Monday week 13

After coming back from Spring Break on the first day back we were presented with a new challenge. Our challenge is to build a robot arm to carry a triangle and place it on the course. Our goal for the week is to come up with a design for the arm and begin building it.

Wednesday Week 11 (Last Post of The 3rd Quarter)

Actually for one week we accomplish our set goals and we were able to program and run all four wheels on our tetrix robot. With the help of Kilian from 3rd period we are now trying to run our robot through the autonomous program that the vex group is working on.

Monday, March 16, 2015

Monday week 11

Last week we finally got our robot to move with our controller last minute. Our goal for this week is to program the other two wheels so that our robot moves properly. We might just have to get some help from another group working on tetrix.

Friday, March 13, 2015

Friday Week 10

Unfortunately our group did not complete our goal of the week by programming our robot with the joystick. Through the week we got two of the wheels to start running with the autonomous setting. Luckily we found a video on Youtube about programming the joystick, so i hope the video helps with our struggle.

Monday, March 9, 2015

Monday Week 10

This week there isn't much to be done with the robot other then coding and some maintenance. Our goal for this week is again, work to coding our robot with RobotC and to get it up and running.

Friday, March 6, 2015

Friday Week 9

Unfortunately our group did not finish our goal of programming our robot. On the bright side we were able to fix some of the wiring to our robot and fix some cables that connect to certain parts of the robot. Now we have continue watching the tetrix videos to learn how to program.

Monday, March 2, 2015

Monday Week 9

This Monday for our group has been a slow Monday. Our goal for the week is to program our robot with RobotC so that our robot can fully function, but first we have to do some research on how to program a tetrix robot.

Friday, February 27, 2015

Friday Week 8

After a long week of work Briston, Brandon, and I finally finished the tetrix robot. Now we have to code our robot with RobotC in order for our robot to start working.

Monday, February 23, 2015

Monday Week 8

Mr.Martin today gave us information on the tetrix robot, problem is that there are no real instructions on how to build the robot. He showed us a video of a tetrix omnibot at work, so our goal is to build that robot but add our own creative ideas to the robot.

Friday, February 20, 2015

Friday Week 7

Today we finished organizing every last bin containing tetrix parts, that's a job well done for team Sozin's Comet. Can't wait till next week so that we can start building are robot

Monday, February 16, 2015

Monday Week 7

Today the three groups that finished first got to pick there robot to build. Our group decided to work on the tetrix robot, because of this decision our group had to start organizing the red containers containing tetrix parts. Our goal for the week is to finish ASAP so that we can start building.

Friday, February 13, 2015

Friday Week 6

Since Monday we started organizing the containers for the parts, my group found some toolboxes containing key parts for are robot so we organized them so that we will easy access to these parts and that they can be found easily.

Monday, February 9, 2015

Monday Week 6

After finishing the task of the vex squarebot on solidworks, now it is time for all the groups to start building are robots. Before we can do all that Mr.Martin gave us the job to organize the containers containing the parts for our robots. I hope my group and I finish as soon as possible so we can start building.

Friday, February 6, 2015

Today we finished the pain and agony of doing the squarebot. After a long week of problem solving with our robot on solidworks we finally finished. Now its to build this squarebot using the parts in the classroom.

Monday, February 2, 2015

Monday Week 5

We've gotten at least half of the base of the robot done. The receiver section of the build is also being worked on, leaving our projections to our completion to the end of the week. Hopefully with no hassle or barriers.

Friday, January 30, 2015

Friday Week 4

We are back on track on completing our robot. We are again joined with all of our team after a week of one of our teammates under the weather. We are happy for his return and eager to get back online and rolling.

Monday, January 26, 2015

Monday Week 4

Today all the groups are continuing on finishing the vex square bot on solidworks. It is a difficult challenge finding the right parts for the square bot but I hope with hard work and the right mentality my team and I can finish the square bot by Friday.

Friday, January 23, 2015

Friday Week 3

Time to make a square bot in solidworks. unfortunately we all are having trouble with the files.
